Back where I began

Jonah and Me

I've been reading the Book of Jonah a lot lately. It's starting to amaze me how much it seems to parallel my experiences over the last 3 years. Pretty amazing to me. The current part in my story is Chapter 2. Jonah was in the depths for 3 days and nights, and he found his way back to the Lord of heaven and earth. So, at the end of Chapter 2, he ends up back where he began! 🙂 As Chapter 3 begins, he decides to follow the Lord. That's where I am now.

Some pictures taken since my last post

Not a lot of wandering lately

This week it will be 3 years since I left Tracy and Bryan's house in New Braunfels, TX after Thanksgiving dinner. I had car trouble by the time I got to El Paso. Someone I knew told me they were staying in an RV Park in Deming, NM and suggested I try to get that far. That I could work on my car there.

So, I washed ashore at the LoW-Hi RV Ranch. I've been here for most of the time since then (I did go back to CO one summer).
I got my car fixed, but decided to stay for a while.

A while turned into months. I adopted a dog (Sophie) from a man who was very sick and was planning on taking her back to the shelter. I said, "NFW" ... NO FREAKING WAY. So, then I had 2 dogs, one deaf and one blind!! That makes me dumb, I guess. But I play a mean pinball. So that was the end of my wandering (for now).

I actually love the RV Park and the small town of Deming, NM. A lot of the people who live here are poor; which is something I like, considering I'm living on Social Security and am not rich myself. I really like living in Deming. I have some friends that live in town and go to a local church. I feel like I'm home.

Thanksgiving back in a HOUSE!

I was able to spend Thanksgiving with my family in Texas! My son, sister, niece and her husband live near San Antonio.

A real bed! Hot running water! A dishwasher!  A kitchen!  Really good company.

In addition, I just have my Jeep. No trailer.  A new year of boondocking is in store.

F150 troubleshooting before leaving Beulah

I made a couple of YouTube videos about some preliminary troubleshooting on my truck.

Sound of the noise

It starts at :29 seconds

Changes in plans

Since the last post, I've determined that my Jeep is not powerful enough to pull that trailer.

I will be just taking the Jeep, and do some car-camping with it.  I will be pitching a tent for any 2 week spots.

New Configuration for the WanderinPat mobile Bug Out vehicles

Truck is not functional.  I'm using my Jeep Cherokee, which was languishing in my friends yard, and a home-made trailer that a good friend gave me 2 years ago.

Not especially pretty.  In fact, it qualifies me for "trailer trash treatment"... "Keep movin , buster.  Nothin here for you"  .   ðŸ˜Š
